'Princess of pastry' Anna Polyviou has a particularly decadent way to indulge this holiday.

For those stricken with a sweet tooth, there’s no better time of year than Easter, especially when lauded pastry chef Anna Polyviou is in charge.

This year, the Family Food Fight star will be welcoming the Enchanted Easter Garden to Sydney’s Shangri-La Hotel as a part of the holiday’s festivities. From Saturday March 30 to April 29 the space will be transformed into an opulent, Alice In Wonderland-esque offering where oversized rabbits will mingle with an elaborate high tea.

For Polyviou, the Enchanted Easter Garden is a chance to relive the Easter of her childhood. “Easter’s about family and friends and I want to bring everyone’s childhood alive in a fun and fabulous way that’s a first for Sydney,” she says. “Our guests should feel happy the moment they enter the garden; eat, drink, laugh, and enjoy the show.”

At the heart of the event is Polyviou’s latest jaw-dropping creation, the Easter High Tea Picnic. It’s a collection of indulgence, including Chocolate Pots, Cracked Eggs, Club Cake, and sticky Hot Cross Buns. Accompany your edible array with an equally decadent drink, including a Popcorn Caramel Martini.

For those who prefer the savoury side of things, there’s also the choice of a cocktail picnic basket for two, containing a collection of cured meats, Australian cheese, olives, fluffy quiche, and fresh fruit.
