The biggest names in the business are bound for the Bay.
Nestled on the outskirts of Byron Bay is the quiet village of Newrybar. But it’s unlikely that the sleepy town will remain so for much longer, thanks to the oncoming onslaught of some of the country’s most renowned foodies making their way to town. Where are they headed? To Harvest Newrybar.
The idyllic homestead has garnered a reputation for itself as a tasty foodie outpost thanks to a multipurpose space that works as restaurant, bakery, delicatessen and garden. Now it will be joining forces with cooking talent further afield with the announcement of a collaboration series that will import famous chefs for a night of feasting. The Wild Harvest collaborative chef series initially launched in May and will run through to January, drawing in culinary talent from Queensland and New South Wales to work alongside head chef Bret Cameron and forager Peter Hardwick on a series of one-off menus.
Ben Devlin, Clayton Donovan, and Darren Robertson have been past participants in the series, but the new line-up will see Phil Marchant and Cormac Bradfield (Gauge, Brisbane), Mike McEnearney (No.1 Bent St and Kitchen By Mike, Sydney), Hamish Ingham (Banksii Vermouth Bar & Bistro, Sydney), Mitch Orr (ACME, Sydney) and Alessandro Pavoni (Ormeggio at the Spit, Northern Beaches) all welcomed into the Byron Bay kitchen.
More information on the Wild Chef series can be found online with bookings available via telephone (02 6687 2644) or email (goodtimes@harvestcafe.com.au).
