Move over turkey, Rockpool’s Bavarian restaurants have come up with an epic new centrepiece for this year’s Christmas table – a golden-crumbed chicken schnitzel, topped with all the trimmings, from roast potatoes to bacon, crispy kale and stuffing crumb to a cranberry and dripping jus.
The Christmas schnitzel is just one of several new dishes to hit the merry menu, which includes a Christmas platter, stocked with ham, stuffed porchetta and sausage and a festive feast set menu, designed for groups to share.
Those who are committed to a strict diet of salad this summer will be overjoyed to discover The Bavarian’s new wurstsalat or sausage salad, made from finely sliced Fleischwurst sausage with Swiss cheese and pickles in a honey mustard vinaigrette.
Diners who spend over $20 at The Bavarian or Munich Brauhaus from Monday, November 11, will also go into the draw to win 100 chicken schnitzels a year, something that’s no doubt at the top of many Christmas wish lists.
