The dark days are over.
Rumours have been swirling for some time now and today Cadbury has confirmed it – Marble chocolate is coming back.
It’s been 8 years since Marble was suddenly and inexplicably removed from supermarket shelves in what many people believe to be one of the darkest days in chocolate’s history.
While some people managed to get on with their lives, others joined a Facebook group called “Bring Back Cadbury Marble”, which has campaigned tirelessly for the block’s return.
The group’s about page reads: “We here at Bring Back Cadbury Marble are fighting tooth and nail to bring back this classic block of chocolate. We will stop at nothing! We will never give up! Vive le Marble!”
Today, their tenacity paid off. This morning, Cadbury released a statement to the group, which read:
“Thank you so much for your commitment to Cadbury Dairy Milk Marble. We have been absolutely blown away by the amount of support and love that you have for one of our classic flavours. Please be assured that every plea, petition and comment has been heard – and we have been working hard to bring back what you want.
“Although you have heard whispers already, as a thank you for your passion and commitment, we wanted you to be the first to hear the exciting news. We can officially confirm we are bringing Cadbury Dairy Milk Marble back!”
No timeline has yet been established, but with the amount of pressure building, we’re thinking the blocks could drop at any moment.
For the uninitiated, Marble is Cadbury’s most delicious creation (sorry Caramilk). It’s made from a hazelnut praline centre, topped with swirls of milk and white chocolate. Basically, it tastes just like those Guylian seashells, only better.
And now that we know Cadbury is listening… Bring Back Cadbury Macadamia!
