The Melbourne chef has been appointed Creative Culinary Partner.
The Ovolo Hotels Group is evidently passionate about their food. The petite chain of boutique accommodation strewn across the country has recently turned its attention to its edible offerings, partnering with some of the nation’s best chefs in the process.
Following on from the news that Justin North has opened wine bar Mister Percy in the Ovolo 1888 Darling Harbour, is the announcement that Ian Curley will shortly take over Monster Kitchen & bar in Ovolo Nishi Canberra.
The Melbourne-based Curley will play the culinary lead, directing the menus of the Canberra eatery in his new role as creative culinary partner. “I am delighted to be working with the well-established Monster Kitchen and Bar,” he says.
“For me it is about evolving Monster and building on its already stellar reputation. I can’t wait to help develop the food and beverage personality of the venue even further.”
Assisting Curley will be Monster’s long-time head chef Daniel Flatt who has just been promoted to the position of executive chef. “We are thrilled to have Ian Curley on board as creative culinary partner for Monster and to have Daniel taking over the reins,” comments COO for Ovolo Hotels Australia, Dave Baswal.
“Restaurants and bars are integral to the Ovolo experience both for local clientele and guests alike. As a master of accessible, delicious food across all cuisines and as creator of several iconic restaurants, Ian is perfectly placed to assist with this evolution.”
