The ultimate festive sandwich has arrived.
Christmas feasting tends to involve turkey, ham, and plenty of stuffing. But what about Christmas snacking? Well the same rules should apply believes Clayton Wells of A1 Canteen. The creator of Sydney’s much adored muffuletta (the sandwich taking over Instagram) has created a festive take on the snack just in time for the silly season.
The Christmas muffuletta is a limited-edition dish that is a self-proclaimed ‘monster sando’ including all your festive favourites. Layers of glazed ham, pumpkin, roast turkey, cranberry, roast chicken and stuffing, provolone, artichoke, capers and piccalilli all sit within a crusty loaf.
Those eager to taste the Christmas muffuletta can enjoy it takeaway or eat it in store at Kensington Street’s A1 Canteen between the dates of December 3 and December 24. Alternatively, those who would like to share it with loved ones (it is Christmas after all) can purchase the muffuletta in its whole form (that’s all 2.5kg of it), for pick up on December 23 and 24. Orders can be made via email (to info@a1canteen.com.au) until allocation is exhausted, or December 14.
