Notorious A.O.C is The Dolphin's new European supper club and you're invited

The Dolphin Wine Room

Settle in with a vin jaune as the team from The Dolphin take you on an immersive journey through France.

Ever wanted to know more about the wine you’re drinking or show off how much you do know? Starting next month, The Dolphin Hotel will launch an intimate supper club called Notorious A.O.C, which will explore some of the world’s greatest wine-growing regions.

Held within The Wine Room, the dinner series will be hosted by The Dolphin’s head sommelier Marie-Sophie Canto and wine director James Hird, who will take diners on a sensory tour of the food, wine and culture of specific wine regions throughout Europe.

First up in the series will be Jura in Eastern France, an area of rolling hills between Burgundy and Switzerland. The immersive dinner experience will include four courses of classiqué French fare, prepared by executive chef Monty Koludrovic and head chef Tom Deadman, matched with an 8-glass wine list from the Jura countryside.

The menu is set to include regional specialties, such as smoked saucisse de Morteau with braised silverbeet, lentils and mustard, and steamed honey cake with cassis quince and custard. While Jura produces wines with some similarity to Burgundy and Swiss wine, they are also distinctive and unusual, the most famous being the vin jaune, or yellow wine, which will be tasted alongside drops by top local producers like Ganevat, Labet, Overnoy, Les Dolomies and Bornard.
