Australia's leading doughnut chain is back from bankruptcy

Doughnut Time

Doughnut Time has been born again.

After filing for bankruptcy earlier this year and closing down its stores, sweet treat company Doughnut Time has confirmed its triumphant return. Of course the new-and-improved take on the company comes with a few changes; namely a new owner in the form of Peter Andros. A Brisbane local, Andros has brought with him ample experience (more than 10 years in fact) for steering the company in a new direction, away from its past financial failures.

Doughnut Time announced its return on social media. “We’re coming back and we’re bigger and better than ever! Your favourite sweet treats will be returning to Aussie shelves once again. We’re talking your original favourites, plus vegan, gluten free, high protein and keto options! Follow us for flavour updates and exciting new store openings,” said Doughnut Time on its recently relaunched Facebook.

Andros and co have been eager to distance themselves from previous owner Damian Griffiths and his well documented financial struggles with the business. “As the new owners, we think what happened to past employees is unacceptable,” the company commented. “We encourage any previous workers who have not yet done so to reclaim unpaid wages by contacting the Department of Jobs and Small Business. We believe many Australians missed Doughnut Time and when we saw it was up for sale, we jumped at the opportunity to bring it back.”

Doughnut Time has confirmed that eight new stores will be opened in the next two months as a part of the new business direction. Locations are set to include The Myer Centre and South Bank in Brisbane,  Degraves Street and Fitzroy in Melbourne, plus Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast.
