The Enmore favourite is back with a new name and a new look.
‘New year, new you’ certainly rings true for Enmore establishment The Duke of Edinburgh Hotel. The rather shabby drinking hole was recently purchased by a conjoined team of hospitality heavyweights and will make its debut with new name and new look in tow just before the arrival of 2019.
The Duke of Enmore, as its been dubbed, will replace the tired public house long settled on busy Enmore Road. The new venue comes courtesy of the combined efforts of Joel Amos of natural wine specialty store Drnks, and Chris Deadman, James Wirth and Michael Delany of hospitality group International Worldwide. The team has brought the pub up to date, gifting it not only a new name, but a new look, new sign, and a new mantra for ‘beer, natural wine, pub foods, and late nights’.
Set to make its debut on December 11, The Duke of Enmore will then show off its revamped interiors, which have replaced a mustard-based colour palette with wood panelling, neutral tiles and tartan carpets. The beer garden thankfully remains, albeit with a smattering of new greenery to make the space a touch more enticing.
Toby Wilson of Ghotboy Cantine and Bad Hombres is in charge of the menu, crafting an array of dishes with a Mexican touch. There’s both vegetarian and vegan options available to those so inclined, as well as budget-friendly offerings (it is a pub after all).
With Joel Amos behind the wheel, the drinks list is set to be one of the best in the Inner West. Expect natural wines galore, at a range of different prices. It’s also been promised that a takeaway bottle shop will be available at the bar, for enjoying at the Duke, or back on the comfort of your couch.
