And it's appropriately named The Terrace.
There’s plenty happening up north, particularly when it comes to the River City. Among Brisbane’s many openings and developments has been the movement of luxury hotel Emporium from Fortitude Valley into South Bank on the other side of the river.
Following the launch of the hotel comes the reveal of its equally lavish new drinking space; The Terrace. As its name suggests, the rooftop expanse sits on the 21st floor of the hotel, boasting impressive views of the Brisbane river and cityscape which neighbours.
Open to hotel guests and locals alike, The Terrace will be open to the public from October 3, from 6.30am till late seven days a week. Its interiors mirror those of its accommodation below; statement-making designs inspired by the subtropical aesthetic mingle with natural light and plenty of open spaces. Multiple green walls decorate the bar, with a 13-metre white backlit onyx bar that sits in its centre. There’s also plenty of glass; floor to ceiling glass doors open onto an expansive balcony that make the most of its envy-inducing location sky high.

“There is absolutely nothing in Australia that compares to this,” says team representative Charles Martin. “From the moment you arrive, you are completely captivated by the extraordinary view and design aesthetic. The Terrace is a phenomenal addition to the city’s lifestyle and tourism offering.”
“This is ultimate subtropical urban luxe, usually only found in major international cities,” he continues. “We have capitalised on our unbeatable climate and location in the city’s premier lifestyle precinct and built a completely bespoke venue from floor to ceiling that is distinctly Emporium. Our guests and residents have been completely blown away by The Terrace and we are very confident that the public are going to be too.”

Once settled within The Terrace you can expect to sip on a range of local and international wines and spirits, and of course ample cocktail offerings. Accompany your beverage of choice with a nibble from the all-day dining menu designed by executive chef Chris Norman, which offers breakfast through snacks. It wasn’t hard to find inspiration for his bar bites of choice admits Norman.
“You only have to take one step into this incredible space to be immediately inspired, from the beautiful colour palette to the open-air ceiling and incredible views that reach all the way out to the sand dunes of Moreton Island,” he says. “With this in mind, I have created a complimentary menu that showcases fresh, locally sourced produce and flavours with a particular emphasis on seafood, the absolute best Queensland has to offer.”
