Guy Turland and Joel Bennetts are among the chefs behind Feast for the Floods.
Bondi Harvest founder Guy Turland has teamed up with Chiswick’s Taylor Cullen, Drake Eatery’s Ian Oakes, Fish Shop’s Joel Bennetts and lauded food stylist and winner of The Great Australian Bake Off 2015, Sian Redgrave, to host a 5-course feast at the new Depot in Bondi on Friday 8 April in partnership with delicious., to help raise funds for Vinnies NSW Flood Relief.
Feast for the Floods will showcase each chef’s distinct style and will be powered by some of the country’s best produce, donated by Appellation Oysters, Mayers Fine Foods, Fremantle Octopus, Austral and many more. Diners can expect plump appellation oysters, a portobello mushroom tart, pillows of thyme gnocchi, aromatic bag-cooked barramundi and a special dessert by Redgrave.
AJ Wine Merchants sommelier Andrew Jamieson has been charged with curating the wine pairings with each course, working with his portfolio of emerging producers to nail the brief.
“We have seen an enormous need for emergency cash grants in flood-affected communities,” says Pricilla Leong of Vinnies.
“In the last six days alone, we have provided assistance to 735 flood-affected households for immediate disaster relief payments of up to $3,000 in the wake of the Northern Rivers floods. This totals around $1.3 million and represents a significant percentage of the funds raised so far for the Vinnies NSW Flood Appeal.”
An impressive collection of items from Le Creuset, Georges Antoni, Stun and Lodge Cast will be auctioned off on the night to help raise further vital funds. Tickets for the dinner are $300, with 100 per cent of funds donated to Vinnies NSW Flood Relief to help provide emergency grants to communities in the Northern Rivers’ Area.
