Ostro's Julia Busuttil Nishimura has just taken up residence at a Melbourne hotspot.
For fans of the food blogging set, Julia Busuttil Nishimura is beloved. The Melbourne-based writer and cook behind the adored Ostro blog, has garnered a legion of fans around Australia thanks to her mouthwatering recipes for simple food with an Italian twist.
Now the Melbournite will be taking up a residence of sorts with a special event held at Windsor’s Neptune Food & Wine. Busuttil Nishimura will be joining forces with the Neptune crew for a one-night-only edible exploration of her cookbook Ostro.

It’s a good fit for both parties considering their shared passion for Mediterranean fare and home-style dishes. The menu from the night itself will see Busuttil Nishimura’s recipes be recreated by the Neptune team, alongside a series of exclusive dishes inspired by the blogger’s enthusiasm for approachable, seasonal cuisine.
Busuttil Nishimura will of course also be present, giving you a chance to have any of your burning questions about her blog answered. “I love seeing the recipes from my book come to life in a restaurant setting – the atmosphere is always electric,” Busuttil Nishimura says of her involvement.
The four-course feast will be hosted on February 20 from 6.00pm. Tickets are $90 per person (or $140 with a signed copy of the book) and include all four-courses with matching wine, as well as a grazing-style aperitivo on arrival. Tickets can be purchased now online.
