Melbourne has welcome its first fresh gnocchi shop, which means your potato peeling days are over.
The new Gnoccheria was launched by Take Me Home, a small artisan pasta company run by Trent Marshall and Felicity Giuliani.
Gnocchi will be made fresh at the Coburg shop, hand rolled and cut from the front glass window. The range will include 20 flavours, including goats cheese, basil, saffron and burnt butter, carrot and turmeric, truffle honey and ricotta, blue cheese, activated charcoal and wild fennel and parmesan.

The dough pillows will be made using the best in local produce, including Jones potatoes in Warragul as well as fresh veg from Felicity’s organic farm in Thorpdale.
The secret to good gnocchi is listening to the dough, Felicity says. “We let the dough tell us when it’s done – our recipe changes every day depending on the weather or what other things we’ve added to the mix or even the batch of potatoes.”
Alongside fresh gnocchi, the shop will also sell handmade pastas including cavatelli, mallerodus and corzetti, as well as pizzas bases and passatas, pretty much everything you need for your next Italian spread.
