Connoisseurs of chicken nuggéts and cask wine will get the chance to indulge their secret shame at the people’s food festival – WA Goon & Nugz – which will return to the Perth Mess Hall this November 27.

An assortment of nuggets will be supplied by four of Perth’s best food trucks, with inspired offerings like BBQ nugget poutine, Philly cheese nugz rolls, nugget burritos and nugz in a cone, served alongside a smorgasbord of gourmet dipping sauces. Yes, that includes sweet and sour.

Take a break from the Margaret River cab sav and try some of the country’s best and cheapest boxed wine, which will be available from the pop-up goon bar. You can also splash out on a goontail, such as the Pineapple Goonjito or Berry Goongria.

Entertainment will include live DJs as well as a chicken nugget eating contest, hosted by comedian Colin Ebsworth. Whoever can eat the most chicken nuggets in five minutes will score a $150 cash prize – just think of all the nuggies and goon you could buy for that.
