Green Square will soon house its own food precinct

Green Square Infinity

The major development is slated to open in September.

On a mission to revitalise Sydney’s inner-east (and hot on the heels of fellow food hubs) a new venture seeks to transform the district into a vibrant global hub. Mark your calendars because come September, Green Square will be the new home to an expansive residential development and cultural hub.

Developed by the Crown Group, the precinct has been dubbed ‘infinity’, likely due to its impressive architecture and boutique offerings. The $575 million project will see the creation of 326 apartments, a boutique hotel and even a convention centre complete with its own cocktail, dinner and wedding spaces.

While the residential aspect may be its selling point, it’s the 20-shop food precinct set to run along Ebsworth Street that’s proving to be the real highlight. Featuring a bustling laneway filled with Asian-inspired eateries, Makoto Japanese will set up shop with their signature sashimi, along with Bashan’s hand-pulled noodles. The flagship restaurant will be the second instalment of Tramsheds beloved ‘Butcher and the Farmer’ where you can expect all-day dining and an aperitivo bar to boot.

For residents and early birds, your daily dose of caffeine will be covered by Social Society. And, with an onsite medical centre, hairdresser and liquor store, there’s a bevy of reasons why the new precinct is worth a visit.
