And yes, there'll be fried chicken.
The Gretz may be no more, but Sydneysiders jonesing for a fried chicken fix can rejoice – Wish Bone, from the team behind Hartsyard, will be opening in its place. The reborn Gretz will see Hartsyard’s Gregory Llewellyn and Naomi Hart collaborate with revhead YouTube stars Blair Joscelyne and Marty Mulholland, of Mighty Car Mods fame.
There’ll be Llewellyn’s famous fried chicken, of course, as well as his poutine and softies, plus a killer drinks menu featuring pre-batch cocktails, bourbon slushies and a range of tinnies.

With Joscelyne and Mulholland on board, the restaurant’s decor will take its cues from the motoring world, including the use of ‘wish bone’ suspension as table supports. Mighty Car Mods fans will also find hints of the duo’s favourite duco automobile colour, Nissan 240Z white, throughout the venue.
“We’ve known the [Mighty Car Mods] guys for ages,” says Llewellyn. “This venue is a true collaboration, from the way the restaurant looks and feels, all the way down to what’s going on the menu. The guys have travelled all over the world, so they’ve got a really unique take on what excites them.”

Says Mulholland: “We’ve known Gregory and Naomi for almost 10 years. He’s a big Mighty Car Mods fan and we are regular diners at Hartsyard. We just got talking about our favourite foods from Hartsyard, then this crazy idea came up that we should work together on something bigger, inspired by our combined histories, and the result is Wish Bone.”
The new restaurant will open at the end of April. More news on the menu and interiors is promised soon.
