Buying a tub of ice cream at the store is meant to be a happy occasion, not one that should be filled with fear and terror.

However, that’s the general mood in the US right now, after a video went viral of a teen licking a carton of Blue Bell ice cream then returning it to the store freezer. Tagged with the hashtag #icecreamchallenge, the video has since amassed millions of views and spawned copycat videos.

So far, a 36-year-old Louisiana man has been arrested for taking part in the challenge, despite producing a receipt to show he actually purchased the ice cream afterwards. The man has been charged with tampering with a consumer product and unlawful posting of criminal activity for notoriety and publicity.  The original poster of the video, a 17-year-old female, has been handed over to the juvenile justice department.

Let that be a lesson to anyone who messes with the mint chip.
