In a headline none of us saw coming, Italian disco icon Pino D’Angiò will take over Icebergs Dining Room and Bar on May 24 for the first event in a series to celebrate the Bondi institution’s 20th birthday. This will be the internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter first ever performance in Australia in his over four decades-long career, to the delight of Iceberg restaurateur and D’Angiò superfan, Maurice Terzini.
“Pino was a childhood hero of mine, I grew up in Italy with the love of Italo Disco.” Terzini said in a statement to delicious.
With just 140 seats available, the evening will start – welcome drink in hand – with an intimate dinner party in the Iceberg dining room with a banquet menu of antipasti, school prawns with ‘nduja mayonnaise; braised octopus; a series of pasta dishes; grilled broccolini with ricotta salata; and a dessert of Amalfi lemon tart with olive oil.

After dinner, guests can groove the night away with an up-close set by D’Angiò in the bar. “What an idea, to live a night, to go crazy at Icebergs.” said D’Angiò in a statement.

With his music featuring in work for labels like Gucci alongside Mark Ronson, and campaigns for Chanel and Louis Vuitton, D’Angiò is best known for his hit 1980 song, ‘Ma Quale Idea’ which sold over 2 million copies in Europe, and helped form the distinct sound and culture of Italio disco.
