The British chef is set to return in May, writes Danielle Colley.
Everyone’s favourite pukka chef might be spending more time on Australian shores with the news that the Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group has bought back the six Jamie’s Italian restaurants across the country.
The restaurants were previously owned by the Keystone Group, who went into receivership mid-2016 giving Jamie the opportunity to retake the reigns and create an exciting new era for the brand.
“This is a process I’ve never been through so it’s all very new but it’s a really happy ending. I wish we could have done it sooner but we got there and it’s safe to say that every cloud has a silver lining,” says Oliver.

“The purchase has put us in a fantastic position to invest even more into our people and restaurants in order to deliver a world-class Jamie’s Italian experience,” says Ben Shaughnessy, Managing Director of the Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group Australia.
The change will see new menus featuring Italian classics, all with the signature Jamie twist, and will showcase all of the best, most sustainable local ingredients possible. Oliver plans to have fresh pasta made on each site daily, amid an enticing menu featuring delicacies such as Wild Porcini Ravioli, Oxtail and Chianti Lasagne and “Wobbly” Vanilla Yoghurt Panna Cotta.
Jamie will be heading to Australia to meet some his team and introduce his new menu in May.
