Best thing since sliced bread?
Not enough time in the day to add mayonnaise to your sandwich? Or maybe you’re too exhausted and just can’t spare the energy squeezing? We thought not, which is why we’re questioning the need for the latest in convenience food – mayonnaise slices.
Launched by Japanese food company Bourbon, the new product is made from sheets of solidified mayonnaise. Simply peel off the film and slap onto your sandwich – just think of the seconds you’ll save.
The slices are made from the Japanese-style of kewpie mayonnaise and come in two flavours – tuna and spicy. Beyond the bread, Bourbon also recommends serving them with pasta.

Best thing since sliced bread? We’re not so sure. All we ask is that you don’t accidentally eat one by itself instead of a cheese single.
The mayo slices will go on sale in Japan on March 2 for around $2.80 for a pack of four.
