Feast on the region's finest produce from underneath a canopy of fairy lights and dangling gum leaves.
Weekends don’t get more leisurely than a long lunch followed by a casual wine (or five) and a mid-afternoon siesta.
Starting from July, voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley, the region’s newest luxury hotel, will launch a series of long lunches which will bring together the very best in Hunter Valley wine and produce and lay it all out on one big table.
The alfresco event will take place in the manicured gardens of the Kirkton’s 70-acre property beneath a canopy of fairy lights and dangling gum leaves. The banquet-style spread will consist of local produce – as in pulled and plucked from the estate’s kitchen garden as well as borrowed from the neighbours – alongside a showcase of local wines, championing one producer at a time.

If you find you’ve eaten yourself into a coma or you just feel like sleeping off your city hangover, you can always stay the night in one of the Kirkton’s luxury suites, with special rates available for lunch guests.
The first in the series will be ‘Winter on the Lawn’, which will include a 3-course banquet paired with wines from Brokenwood estate. Expect a fairytale scene, set with flickering fire pits and live music in the background. The event will run Saturday, July 13 from 1pm – 4pm at a price of $95 per person.
