Sip while you shop at Magnum + Queens.
You can now slurp on your favourite wine while you shop up a storm at specialty wine store Magnum + Queens. The modern interpretation of a bottle-o launched mid-last year, as the first bricks-and-mortar project from sommelier Virginia Selleck and business partner Kirsten Dickie. But now the South Melbourne store has expanded to encompass a bar alongside its shopping shelves.
From March 1, the Magnum + Queens Bar will open for business, trading from 10.00am. The intimate drinking space seats just 25 both inside and out, and will offer a drinks list that will rotate weekly. Initial pours will include Basket Ranges Wines Pet Nat from the Adelaide Hills, Visitini Friulano DOC 2017, Heathcote’s Bertrand Bespoke Rose, Jean Bourdy Côtes du Jura Rouge 2015, and some specialty Coravin. Visitors will also be able to select any bottles available for purchase to enjoy in-store.

There will, naturally, be bar bites to accompany the array of drops on offer. Think cheese, and plenty of it, accompanied by oat crackers, quince jam, tinned sardines and anchovies, pickles, and dips among more.
“Our extensive range of wine, craft beer and cider, premium spirits, mixers and accompaniments has been carefully curated at Magnum + Queens. Customers can select a unique bottle on the way home from work or linger for a glass and grazing plate,” Selleck explains.
