One of Australia’s growing patty-devotees is the latest to announce a Sunshine State outpost.
If you weren’t aware, we are in the midst of a burger epidemic. Australia’s love for a hearty meat patty has continued to climb over recent years. And Brisbane is fast catching up to Melbourne and Sydney when it comes to burger offerings.
The river city’s burger-focused eateries are quickly multiplying in number, with standouts including Ben’s Burgers, as well as Miel Container, Red Hook and the recently opened Char Boys in the Brisbane CBD. There is also Remy’s in Paddington, Fritzenberger Frites and Burger Brew Pub in Petrie Terrace, and the list goes on.
Now one of Australia’s fastest growing burger chains will be heading up north with Neil Perry’s Burger Project confirming its first Queensland outpost. Landing on February 17 in South Bank’s Southpoint precinct, the store will be the eighth Burger Project so far. House-churned soft-serve, shakes, sodas, wine and craft beers will accompany an experimental burger menu, with breakfast fare also on offer from February 20.
The Queensland addition has been a long time coming for the brand. “It’s long been our goal to add Brisbane to our East Coast road-trip. Brisbane diners love burgers and Southpoint is a stunning, centrally located precinct with lots of foot traffic so it’s a great fit,” says Neil Perry. “We’re spreading our love of quality ingredients, sourced from reputable and admirable local producers,” he continues.
