The future of Australian dining is coming.

Sydney’s Barangaroo dining precinct is about to get another major boost as Matt Moran and Solotel reveal their latest restaurant offering, Barangaroo House.

Expected to open in December after more than three years in the making, the three-storey establishment hopes to “bring an explosion of nature back to the precinct.” Each storey will offer punters a different experience from an expansive bar and food offering on the ground floor, a restaurant on the first floor and a rooftop terrace bar overlooking the harbour on the second floor.

Cory Campbell, who spent time at both Noma and Vue de Monde, will be working his magic behind the pans across all three storeys. Campbell has in recent years positioned himself as one of Australia’s most regarded and promising chefs.

“For two years, I’ve scoured the globe looking for the chef to lead Barangaroo House. It was crucial to appoint a chef who perfectly aligned with our plans for the venue and ultimately, a chef from our own shores was the perfect fit,” said Moran. “After my first conversation with Cory, I knew he was right. We share the same philosophy of a strong sense of place and he brings a wealth of experience from cooking in some of the world’s best kitchens,” he added.

While details on what the first-floor restaurant will entail are yet to be revealed, Campbell along with Moran is looking to create an offering with a distinctively Australian flavour.

“I’m incredibly excited to join Matt and Solotel at Barangaroo House to oversee the three kitchens. For me this is a huge opportunity to bring to life an idea unlike anything Australia has seen before,” said Campbell.

Barangaroo House is expected to open in December 2017.
