And it’s headed for Western Sydney.
Matt Moran’s reach is expanding out into Western Sydney with the celebrity chef and his hospitality group with Bruce Solomon confirming a Parramatta addition to their existing brood of eateries. Solotel will be introducing a second instalment of Australian grill Chophouse in October, opening the doors to a new space in Centenary Square.
The second venture comes after the success of the first Chophouse restaurant, an Australian grill which landed in Sydney CBD 18 moths ago. “Many of our CBD customers are from Sydney’s western suburbs so we knew it was only right to bring the Chophouse experience to them. As the heart of the west, Parramatta is an area of rapid growth with a great restaurant culture, so we knew it was the place and time to make the move,” says Solomon of the company’s decision to welcome a second venue out west.
Chophouse is focused on feasting particularly in the carnivore category, serving up a premium selection of Australian beef within a sleek, contemporary space. It’s the latest in a recent influx of restaurants to make their way into the Parramatta dining scene, and will occupy the site formerly occupied by Jamie’s Italian. “We’ve had our eye on expanding west for a while now, and when the offer to open a restaurant in the hub of Parramatta presented itself we couldn’t say no,” continues Solomon.
