A Brisbane-born, French-trained star brings Restaurant Dan Arnold to the Valley.

There are few Brisbane chefs who can claim to have worked at a Michelin-star restaurant, let alone two of them. Brisbane native Dan Arnold is one such chef, having worked under Marc Meneau for a year at the three-Michelin-star L’Espérance before moving on to a second-ranked venue, the two-Michelin-star Serge Vieira for the next six years. If those credentials weren’t impressive enough, Arnold has also previously won bronze at the 2016 Bocuse d’Or Asia-Pacific competition and came eighth at the Bocuse d’Or World Final in 2017.

A young son saw Arnold and his wife Amelia return to Australia, and inspired the couple to launch a restaurant of their own. Restaurant Dan Arnold has just opened its doors in the new Alex Perry Hotel & Apartments development in Fortitude Valley.

Australian flavours are at the forefront of Arnold’s regularly changing menu, with dishes prepared in an open kitchen to increase the connection between chef and diner. In an ode to his French training, the restaurant will offer short set menus, with both a three- and a five-course option available. Optional wine matching and a cheese course to finish offer a rather Gallic (and welcome) finishing touch.
