The famed Melbourne Rosetta Ristorante is heading north.
While Melbourne may have the reputation of being Australia’s pasta capital (namely thanks to a certain Lygon Street), Sydney is fast on its tail. Not only is there a bounty of incredible Italian restaurants in the harbour city, but shortly one of Melbourne’s favourites will be settling up north – namely Neil Perry’s Rosetta Ristorante.
Construction on the sophisticated space has already begun in the CBD’s Grosvenor Place, with the restaurant expected to launch this Autumn. The two-level eatery on George Street will join a handful of Neil’s other Rockpool Dining Group spaces.
Considering the success of the Melbourne venue, it’s no surprise that there is little difference expected from its Sydney cousin. Australian interior designer Melissa Collison is at the helm of the design direction. Which means that for Sydney’s Rosetta, opulence will again be in abundance. The menu is also expected to remain true to Rosetta’s roots of simple, hearty Italian fare inspired by Neil’s extensive travels around the country.
