We've found the ultimate truffle experience

Otto

And it's Australia wide.

Those with a penchant for the finer things in life need to find their closest OTTO Ristorante stat. The group of fine dining Italian restaurants has just launched a truffle experience that is sure to satisfy those who like their meals with a side of luxury.

It’s a specialty service designed for the season (or the months of June, July and August) in which diners are given a chance to add Australian black Manjimup truffles to their favourite dishes. The truffle service itself is more of a performance piece that will see the ingredient carried to the table by gloved silver tray service, and served under a glass cloche to enhance its aroma.

Guests will be able to choose which of the truffle collection they would like to adorn their dish, before it is generously shaved over the meal. Diners will be able to purchase the rest of the truffle to take home, but will be gifted a box of OTTO’s own chocolate truffles at the end of their meal nonetheless.

“Truffles are regarded as one of the world’s most premier food delicacies that are celebrated around the world, it’s only fitting that we celebrate them at the restaurant with a special ritual,” says OTTO Sydney Head Chef, Richard Ptacnik of the luxury offering.

But it’s not just a celebration of the truffle itself, but a way to enhance the dining experience says general manager Graham Ackling. “Old world hospitality and personal service has always been at the heart of what we do so we felt that it was only natural to extend this to how we serve truffles,” he explains. “It’s fun, indulgent and captures the La Dolce Vita vibe that we celebrate at the restaurant.”

The truffle service is available for all menu items from June 9, but Ptacnik has created a special menu of dishes designed to partner perfectly with the ingredient. “Our hand rolled pici, smoked ham hock, pecorino and egg yolk and our mixed wild mushroom risotto are my favourite ways to eat truffle. None of these dishes over-complicate the beauty of the ingredients which allowing the truffle to sing. I don’t think you can get anything more delicious,” he explains of his creations.

OTTO Ristorante will be offering its truffle service for $25 per 5g of Australian black Manjimup, so best pull out your piggy bank.
