With help from a handful of celebrity chefs.
It’s official – OzHarvest is taking over the world. The organisation spawned to fight food waste has set its sights on a restaurant within Sydney’s borders.
Celebrity chef Colin Fassnidge will be helping OzHarvest’s Ronnie Kahn establish the organisation as an eatery in its own right. He recently told delicious. that he has joined the crew as a culinary ambassador, helping to guide Kahn and the organisation through the world of restaurants. His first task will be to assist OzHarvest with finding a suitable spot to establish an eatery, before turning his attention to finalising menus and his new role as a part of the panel’s advisory board.
Fassnidge confirmed that no site has yet been chosen but the hunt for the perfect eatery perch has begun. The freehold purchase has been deemed necessary in order to host an increasing number of events for the company, first stop the CEO Cook Off.
“It will be an ongoing role, I’m going to be really involved, helping guide Ronnie and OzHarvest,” said Fassnidge.
“First up we have the CEO CookOff to work with. We’ve got a goal of raising $3 million and to do that we’re going to host a special dinner for the first 50 CEOs who sign up to be involved. The dinner will have me cooking, it will have Monty [Koludrovic] from Icebergs and Jacqui [Challinor] from Nomad.”
For foodies, the chance to be wined and dined by three of the city’s top chefs will no doubt be hard to refuse. Those interested in signing up for the 2019 CEO Cook Off, and to win a spot on the exclusive dining table, can do so here.
