Australia's first peanut butter bar to open in Sydney

Peanut butter

And it's filled with sugar-free, preservative-free and hydrogenated fat-free goodness.

Not since the advent of avocado on toast have we been as excited as we are about the opening of Australia’s first peanut butter bar in Sydney.

Set to take Leichhardt’s Norton Street by storm, the bar which is dedicated entirely to all things peanut butter – think slices, cakes, ice cream, shakes –  is made using only the best natural, sugar-free, preservative-free, hydrogenated fat-free, high protein nut butter available.

Husband and wife duo Christine and Nagib Elbakht, who both share a love for the nut, have partnered with California’s favourite natural nut butter brand, Buff Bake, bringing vegan and gluten-free treats to the masses of Sydney. While many are still riding the Nutella wave, the bar hopes to make the healthy nut butter the new obsession of locals and travellers alike. Menu items include a high-protein low-sugar gelato, peanut butter choc mint pudding, protein blondies with white choc peanut butter swirls and even salted peanut butter and choc-chip skillet cookies.

It’s not just the food that’s set to impress. The interiors have also been fitted out with some serious murals with the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Muhammad Ali gracing the walls of the bar. Inspired by the 1976 cult-classic film Rocky, the bar even features a replica boxing ring.

The bar is expected to open on the October long weekend. Guess we’ll have to settle for our peanut butter on toast until then.
