The musicians will launch Talk To Me next month.
Not content with having dominated the festival scene, Australian musical duo Peking Duk have their hearts set on grabbing a hold of the hospitality world. The band’s Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles have recently purchased their former favourite drinking den in Melbourne and are set to relaunch it under the name Talk To Me.
November’s start will see the new venue come to life. It’s a transformation for former venue Less Than Zero, which was the boys’ favourite place to drink. Hearing it was for sale they reached out to Steven Hiles (the man behind the transformation of The Horse in Surry Hills) to partner with them, and chef James McCall.
It’s a bar designed for unwinding, with food, drinks, and a sense of party all in ample supply (which no surprise to anyone familiar with Peking Duk’s music) . The menu has taken inspiration from their travels across New York and Asia, and ranges from the decadent to the quirky. Menu options include a spam and cheese hotdog (with ketchup kimchi and mustard) and a twice-cooked cauliflower with black vinegar master stock and furikake kewpie.
With two lively entertainers behind the new venue, we have no doubt that this new bar will be able to draw a crowd.
