Your favourite French trio have swapping the steak frites for fresh pasta and seafood.
The dream team from Bistrot 916 – Dan Pepperell, Mikey Clift and Andy Tyson – has crossed the border to open an Italian trattoria in Surry Hills.
Pellegrino 2000 has taken over the former Bar H site on the corner of Campbell and Foster Street. The heritage corner terrace is split between two levels, with a main dining room on the ground floor and a second dining room in the basement.

Diners can expect clothed tables and walls lined with anchovies, tomatoes and preserved Italian goods. Downstairs, a candle-lit wine cellar illuminates over 1000 bottles.
The menu is made up of Italian staples including house-made pasta, fritto misto and tripe, with limoncello jellies for dessert.

“The wine list will be a grand selection of the Italian classics, mostly old Barolo, old Chianti, and a few prized bottles of the greats like Soldera and Valentini,” said Andy Tyson.
“Cocktails will follow suit; a Harry’s Bar-style bellini, caffe shakerato, negroni and lovely little selection of amari.”
