A new Italian trattoria swings into the CBD. Words by Mariam Digges.
QT Sydney’s Parlour Lane Roasters has reopened as Parlour Cucina, a trattoria serving up new-school Italian with old-world hospitality.
Expect all your favourite Italian dining pastimes here, including aperitif hour, top-notch espresso powered by Sydney roasters the Little Marionette, and nostalgic, generous Italian fare come lunch and dinner time from QT Hotels & Resorts’ Creative Food Director, Robert Marchetti, in conjunction with QT Sydney Executive Chef, Michael Box.
The venue has retained all of its original charm including its heritage listed glass cabinets, cracked floors and wine cellar.
Parlour Cucina’s intimate tables will be hard to look past for casual business lunches, while the burnished bar is the perfect place to park after hours. A glass of pinot noir might have got you here but it’s the food that will keep you in your seat: four cheese arancini, calamari fritti and carpaccio are some of what’s on offer after 11am.

If you’ve arrived hungry, you wont be for long, with a classic parmigiana and six-hour slow-roast lamb rigatoni created with Italian generosity in mind.
Breakfast highlights include panini di patate with truffled eggs, pancetta, asiago cheese and lemon spinach. Dietaries are also catered for via artisanal milk alternatives such as hemp and date, and nourishing bowls like a seeded macadamia-millet granola with coconut yoghurt and steamed fruit.
