The 8,000 square metre store is a part of Sunshine Plaza's $440 million redevelopment.

Queensland’s Sunshine Coast is no longer just home to some of the best beaches in the state (if not country), but the picturesque district has just welcomed the most recent addition to the David Jones family. Set to be unveiled shortly by brand ambassadors Jessica Gomes and Jett Kenny is a 8,000 square metre store that forms a part of the $440 million redevelopment of Sunshine Plaza.

This is the first David Jones to make its way to the Sunshine Coast, but the 47th store for the ever-expanding department store which now boasts outlets all over the country, as well as a New Zealand offering in Wellington.

The luxe new Queensland outlet will integrate the full category offering of fashion, beauty and home, a Personal Shopping Suite and by-appointment Beauty Rooms. A David Jones Kitchen will also sit at the store’s centre, a 42-seat cafe that will serve up a seasonal breakfast and lunch menu to visitors, coffee (of course) included and created exclusively for David Jones by Sensory Lab.

“We’re absolutely delighted to be bringing our world-class offering to the Sunshine Coast,” says David Jones General Manager of Retail Operations Ben Webster. “Queensland is an incredibly important market for us, and our first store on the Sunshine Coast has been designed especially for our customers who can now experience our in-store services and shop the best of local and international brands closer to home.”

To celebrate its launch, David Jones Sunshine Plaza will host a special shopping event on March 28 from 5.00-9.00pm, treating guests to sparkling wine and canapés.
