Sydney's Antipodean restaurant to close

delicious.

A new day, another Sydney restaurant closure.

When Grant King announced the closure of Gastro Park earlier this year, there was at least a sigh of relief that the talented chef had a new venture in the works. Antipodean, on the same Potts Point site as Gastro Park, was to be his take on a more casual eatery focusing on Australian and New Zealand produce and producers. But, in a fate that has befallen many other Sydney restaurants, the venue will be closing its doors, after just six months.

The restaurant opened to generally positive reviews, with our own national restaurant reviewer, Anthony Huckstep, commenting: “The Antipodean may be sold as a more casual dining affair, but King’s technical prowess underpins every delicious layer. This is a castle to come back to.”

There are no details as yet on Antipodean’s final day of service.
