It’s the first Queensland joint for the Sydney brunch favourite.

The ducks are flying north – the Three Blue Ducks that is, with the announcement of the group’s first venue in the Sunshine State. The much loved ‘paddock to plate’ pushing string of eateries will be making its Queensland debut as a part of the W Brisbane this April.

Guests can expect everything they have come to love from the group’s Bronte, Rosebery and Byron Bay venues. Think fresh, local cuisine, crafted around a bounty of Queensland and northern New South Wales produce. There’s a woodfire oven on hand, a rotisserie and charcoal pit and a cold seafood section showcasing Moreton Bay bugs, Spanner Crab and oysters. A menu promises all the favourites, from Spanner Crab scramble with green mango, bean shoot salad, house made siracha and cashews; to the corn fritters with guacamole, fermented cabbage, jalapeno, herb salad, labneh and poached eggs. And that’s not forgetting drinks, which will incorporate craft beer, crisp wines and (most importantly) quality coffee.

“When approached by W Hotel to embark on a Three Blue Ducks venture in Brisbane, it was important to us to ensure that we shared the same values and sustainable business practices,” says Three Blue Ducks co-owner Jeff Bennett. “We share the same ethos for quality and we’ll be using locally sourced produce that is farmed ethically. Although our current venues greatly differ in aesthetic, our philosophy and ethos remain very much the same and we can’t wait to work alongside W Brisbane with views over the Brisbane River.”

The General Manager W Brisbane Haldon Philp also believes the match will be an enduring one.  “We’re both non-traditional brands with a shared vision of showcasing local, real food and drinks, which makes this partnership the perfect match for W Brisbane’s signature dining experience,” he comments.

“It’s going to be a hotspot for an indulgent weekend brekky and tempting lunch or dinner in the city, a place where you feel at home amongst friends and family to share delicious dishes within a lively environment.”
