Michelin winners join forces with local heroes in a new series of collaborative dinners.
In the mood for dinner cooked by Michelin-starred chefs? Silly question. Of course you are. But you’ll have to be quick – tickets for the first two ‘Four Hands’ experience at Sydney’s Kensington Street precinct are selling fast.
First up in what will be a series of international chef collaborations taking place in The Private Kitchen atop Kensington Street’s Old Rum Store is chef Seita Nakahara from Singapore’s terra, previously awarded a Michelin star. He’ll be joined in the kitchen by award-winning chef Lino Sauro, of the Old Rum Store’s Olio restaurant. The pair will present an Italian-influenced six-course menu on July 12.
Next up, on August 9, LG Han, from Singapore’s newly Michelin-starred Labyrinth, collaborates with Sauro for a six-course menu that marries Han’s Neo-Singapore cuisine with Sauro’s nuova Sicilian cooking. The pair promise a night that will “sling you between Singapore and Italy in a matter of mouthfuls”.
More ‘Four Hands’ collaborations will be announced in coming months, as The Private Kitchen’s owners, Greencliff, looks to promote international chefs to Sydney diners in pairings with established Kensington Street chefs.
Says Greencliff Executive Chairman Dr Stanley Quek: “The Private Kitchen was designed to be a space that would shine a light on visiting chefs, whether from overseas or interstate. It’s a fantastic opportunity for chefs to get an insight into the Sydney dining market and for guests to have a dining experience they would otherwise have to travel to enjoy.”
Tickets to the first two ‘Four Hands’ events are on sale now: $120pp dinner only or $175pp with paired wines. Bookings can be made online.
