A modern bottle shop for South Melbourne.
Having now well established themselves online with wine store Magnum + Queens, Kirsten Dickie and Virginia Select were looking for a new challenge. That’s arrived for them in the form of a bricks and mortar business; a wine boutique based in South Melbourne that’s a self-described emporium of wine, beer, craft spirits and accompaniments.
Of course this isn’t your average bottle-o but rather a sleekly styled store that is home to a carefully curated list of drops from around the globe. There’s both the alcoholic variety (wines from small producers are plentiful in number) and the non-alcoholic, with booze-free drinks like Seedlip available.

But the focus at Magnum + Queen isn’t just on the drinks themselves, but the overall experience of purchase. With 700 drinking options to choose from, it’s helpful that there’s an educated team on hand to guide you down the right path and towards the right drop for you.
The team have of course some great leaders in their midst, with both Dickie and Selleck having ample experience in hospitality. Selleck in particular worked as a sommelier at some of the country’s leading restaurants throughout her career, from Rockpool, to Cumulus, and Stokehouse Melbourne.
While Selleck may have made somewhat of a career change from the fine dining scene, we’re sure Melbourne residents (and their cellars) aren’t complaining.
