Toast the season with a lavish European feast prepared by a trio of the city's best chefs.

The season of comfort eating is coming to a close and what better way to send it off than with an epic winter feast in honour of all that is hot, gooey, toasty, melty, and warm.

As part of this year’s White Night Reimagined festival, the White Night Feast will see up to 500 guests take part in a lavish sit-down banquet held within the 19th-century stylings of the Royal Exhibition Building.

Annie Smithers, Hugh Allen and Philippa Sibley.

The evening will kick-off in true European style with roasted chestnuts, hot fondue and spiced wine, before launching into a decadent three-course feast prepared by a trio of the city’s best chefs. Hugh Allen from Vue de monde has put together the first course, which sees a country-style pork and pistachio terrine paired with pickled muntries and watercress. Next up, Annie Smithers from Du Fermier segues into French territory with a cider and prune braised duck with gratin dauphinois and parsnip. To finish, Philippa Sibley from The European will show off her proficiency with puddings with a golden syrup cobbler and spiced quince – all matched to Victorian beers and wines, of course.

After you’ve eaten yourself into a stupor, head outside and join the revelling, with the White Night spectacle happening just beyond the door.
