If you thought Messina's chocolate fondant gelato couldn't get any more decadent, you were wrong.
Not even three weeks into truffle season and it’s clear some restaurants are already getting a little carried away with their new tubers. We’ve seen truffle dim sum, truffle negronis, and now, Messina has announced truffle-topped gelato.
From July, you’ll be able to add 3g of shaved truffle to any Messina product, from their complete range of gelatos to their milkshakes, hot chocolates and ice cream cakes.
If you’re looking for good pairings, Messina has suggested their salted caramel and white chocolate, dulce de leche or hazelnut gelato flavours, however, there’s no real reason why you can’t go rogue with raspberry or macadamia crunch.
Truffle-topped gelato will launch at select Messina stores from July 1, with each 3g serve of truffle priced at $6.
