You can now donate to the Feed Appeal on your weekly grocery shop

Helping hungry families is as easy as adding a $2 donation to your docket.

With more and more Australians suffering economic hardship and food insecurity in response to the global pandemic, Woolworths and News Corp have teamed up to make it easier than ever to donate to those in need.

From today, shoppers can make a $2 donation to Feed Appeal at any Woolworths checkout or when shopping online. While $2 might not seem like much, each coin converts into four nourishing meals, which will be distributed to members of the local community in need.

Woolworths has kicked off the new initiative with a $100,000 donation. Woolworths Chief Marketing Officer, Andrew Hicks said: “Food insecurity is an incredibly real issue which is why it is more important than ever that we continue to support our long-standing food rescue partnerships as they help people in need in communities across the country.

“We are pleased to support the Feed Appeal again this year and will be kicking off our support with a $100,000 donation. We invite our customers to join us in helping feed Australians in need by making a $2 donation in store or online.”

Feed Appeal is a national not-for-profit that supports food relief organisations. It was co-founded by News Corp Australia’s Leader Community News and FareShare in 2009 with a mission to help feed Australians.
