Matt Moran knows just what it takes to lure a Sydneysider outside in winter. For the months of July and August, Barangaroo House will transform into a luxe winter chalet, boasting pop-up igloos on its rooftop, cauldrons of mulled wine and chocolate fondue fountains.
Smoke will welcome a series of pop-up igloo party-domes to its open-air terrace. Each snow globe will be padded out with faux fur cushions and cosy throws as well as fairy lights and lanterns for a warm winter glow. You won’t have to venture out into the cold for food either, with baked truffle camembert and mulled wine cauldrons, delivered to your door.
Gather your 8-12 favourite people and go in on a three-tiered chocolate fountain. Each overflowing fondue set comes with cinnamon churros, poppyseed and orange cake, native riberry marshmallows, salted pretzels and fresh winter fruits.
On the ground level, House Bar will team up with Belvedere Vodka to create a special menu of spiced martinis, which will include chilli chocolate, spiced apple and smoked rosemary concoctions. Or, keep your hands warm with a boozy hot toddy.
