Robert Gordon is a name synonymous with kitchens, but now the much loved Victoria-based pottery brand will be even further entwined in the world of food thanks to the launch of the brand’s first eatery. On Wednesday September 5, Robert Gordon Kitchen officially opens its doors, the latest extension of the growing family-run pottery space.

The eatery will be nestled into the existing site of Robert Gordon Pottery in Pakenham which has amassed quite the reputation after 70 years in the pottery game, and as the name behind the stoneware at top restaurants Vue de Monde, Longrain, Grossi Florentino and Pope Joan.

Open for breakfast through lunch, Wednesday to Sunday, Robert Gordon Kitchen’s menu has been designed to be as approachable as it is delicious. Head chef Chris Henderson has erected a list of new twists on brunch classics, all served (of course) on Robert Gordon stoneware.

The British-born chef has used largely ethically-sourced produce in his menu. Stand-outs include the Proper Bacon Sandwich, the Pottery Burger and, for the sweet tooth, a bowl filled with waffles, cinnamon sugar, lemon curd, vanilla ice-cream and honey nut clusters.
