But what does this mean for the beachside institution?

Poolside dining institution Icebergs must be one of Bondi (if not Sydney’s) most famed establishments. But that hasn’t stopped owner John Singleton from putting the eatery up for sale.

Interested parties will need more than a little pocket change to purchase the iconic restaurant. $15 million has been stated as the baseline price for the level three restaurant. It’s a fair asking price considering the millions of dollars John invested into rebuilding the Icebergs Club after the original 1960s building fell susceptible to concrete cancer. That, and the venue’s sweeping views of Bondi Beach.

But fans of the restaurant need not fear a change in the menu – Maurice Terzini and co who currently run the restaurant have a lease in place until the year 2036. They expect to continue to trade as normal once the building announces a new owner. Terzini himself has also confirmed that he is among the potential new buyers of the property,  a list which also includes Quay’s owner John Fink.
