Tails are wagging.
On the hunt for a great pub lunch in Port Stephens? A 400-seat modern pub and eatery will open its doors on the ground floor of Bannisters this Friday, December 20, and it’s positioned just 50 metres from the beach.
The impressive new venue, which was designed by architect Tony Freeman and MCM House, has been decked out in natural timbers and rattan, with just the right amount of scruff, thanks to exposed brick walls and soft linen furnishings.
Those with a dog’s appetite will find plenty to sink their teeth into, with Bannisters head chef, Mitch Turner, putting together a simple Mediterranean menu, filled with local ingredients sourced from the bays.

The menu starts with summery snacks like whipped ricotta and marinated artichokes, then builds to blistery stone-baked pizzas and pub classics like schnitzels and steaks.
For those out on an early walk, the pub opens from 7am for Allpress coffees and pastries. And of course, man’s best friend is welcome too.
