Next stop, aburi scallops.
Fast food that’s actually good for you? You’ll find it at Federation Square eatery, Chocolate Buddha, which has just reopened after six months of trackwork, which saw the venue install a new high-speed shinkansen-inspired sushi train.
Running above the existing sushi train (let’s call it Melbourne Metro), the new shinkansen is used to transport hot food, taking just seconds in transit.

New cargo has been added to the load, including a ramen okonomiyaki, pork belly rice paper rolls, and a chargrilled black cod moromisoyaki, which sit alongside their usual selection of sushi rolls, tempura dishes and donburi bowls.
The new train line is not the only update that has been made to the 180-seater eatery. Design studio Maddison Architects have given the interiors a complete revamp, combining Victorian Ash hardwood with smooth cement sheets to create a very stylish platform.
