Because who doesn’t love a beer on the water
Home to lapping water and perpetual sunshine, James Squire has found the best beer-drinking location yet for its new craft brewhouse, The Savvy Squire.
Positioned on the newly revitalised Wharf Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast, the new brickwork venue features plenty of inspired spots to sit and drink, from an outdoor deck to a sun-drenched beer garden and interior dining hall, surrounded by panoramic river views.

Ale aficionados will be able to sample the entire convict-inspired collection, from Swindler Tropical Ale through to The Chancer Golden Ale and Four Wives Pilsner. Can’t decide? They also offer a tasting paddle of any four beers.
For the non-beer drinkers who were dragged along by their “friends”, there’s also Australian and New Zealand wines and classic cocktails to choose from.

As for food, The Savvy Squire’s head chef, Neil Mann, has put together a contemporary pub menu, which includes a fair few brew-spiked dishes.
Choose between One Fifty Lashes glazed chicken wings with hot sauce, beef short ribs braised in Jack of Spades porter, pale ale–battered fish and chips or the pork cutlet with Orchard Crush confit apples.
