There's good news in store for fans of the wine bar.
Wine lovers rejoice, Victoria’s beloved EMBLA is growing. The popular 60-seater Melbourne wine bar is opening upstairs in the same building – which means more space and more top-notch food and wine for everyone.
Upstairs has been a closed space since EMBLA opened nearly two years ago, but after an extensive refurbishment will soon be ready to welcome guests. Renovations included replacing the large windows, which had been frosted by the previous owners, to open up the space and allow in plenty of natural light.
Due to open in the next few months, the restaurant upstairs will have a separate kitchen and a different menu, with a bigger push on wholesome vegetarian dishes – an offering executive chef Dave Verheul thinks is lacking in Melbourne – and another no-doubt excellent wine list with talk of a walk-in wine room.
We can’t wait.
