That's summer sorted.

Alessandro Pavoni and the Ormeggio team have opened Cibaria Manly, a beachside celebration of all things Italian, food, wine, hospitality and of course, gelato.

The Northern Beaches restaurant is housed in the recently relaunched Manly Pacific Hotel.

“The restaurant is a space that embraces the European way of socialising, all day every day. Where a caffé turns into aperitivo, turns into a meal with friends with incredible wines,” Pavoni says.

“It is meeting place for friends, for families, or a late-night cocktail and gelato after your passeggiata along the beachfront.”

Designed with various ‘-ria’s’ in mind, Cibaria Manly is zoned into a braceria (grilled section), a forneria (baked goods), spaghetteria (pasta section) and pasticceria (pastries and cakes). Each counter offers guests a specialised experience.

The site includes four distinct venues – a restaurant, bar, gelateria/cafe and an events space. Naturally, a gelato counter beckons for beachgoers to grab a scoop to take away and enjoy on the sand.

As with all Pavoni and Ormeggio venues, the overall dining experience draws inspiration from Italian traditions with a true sense of place – in this case, as with Ormeggio at The Spit, an oceanic experience perfect for a Sydney long lunch.

Cibaria Manly is the second venue that Pavoni and his team opened in 2024, with the acquisition of former One Penny Red site in Summer Hill for new neighbourhood haunt Postino Osteria. The neighbourhood wine and snack bar opened in September, paving the way for its sister restaurant in Manly. And this year, they’re launching Vineria Louisa, an Italian wine and gin bar, in the old Bar Louise site on Enmore Road.
