Considering how popular the monochrome and the minimal are right now in the world of design, the opulent and the lavish can be a breath of fresh air. This is true in the case of Feast India Co.’s The Pink Zebra. As its name suggests, the bar and restaurant is a multi-level space awash with zebra stripes and hot pink. Designed by Renesa Studio, the venue sits in the Swaroop neighbourhood of Kanpur in India’s Uttar Pradesh, an area most famed for local resident the Taj Mahal. The Pink Zebra resides within one of the district’s oldest buildings and has orchestrated a handful of different spaces within which guests can relax as a part of its physical revamp. There’s a lounge and bar, a dining area, and a covered terrace all within the kitsch eatery’s 370 Square metres to take advantage of. As for its inspiration – take a quick look at the rose-hued space and it’s quite easy to see that owners Sagar and Jaivardhan Bhatia are unabashed fans of the celebrated director Wes Anderson, a man renowned for his distinctly quirky taste.
